In our opinion, Pre-Civil War New Orleans Mint Eagles are undervalued in the current marketplace. Not only do they contain just under a half-ounce of gold, but they are fundamentally rare and beautiful pieces of US history and money.
The mintage was 263,000 coins and today between PCGS and NGC combined only around 1,600 are certified in ALL grades combined. Only 20 or so of these are in mint condition, so this is a tough coin to find in high grades. This particular example is graded by NGC in AU53 condition with a CAC sticker, confirming the NGC grade even further. Great coin for the money and coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
