1907 Philadelphia $20 Liberty Mint State 63
The $20 Double Eagle was issued for circulation starting in 1850 and ran until 1907 when the design was discontinued---so this represents the final year of issue for the Liberty Head Double Eagle series.
They are impressive, nearly one ounce pure gold coins that take you back to a time when $20 actually meant something.
The obverse depicts Lady Liberty and the reverse shows a heraldic eagle. Today, these coins can be acquired in certified, mint state 63 condition for a very low premium over their gold content. First and last year issues tend to be popular with colllectors and investors alike, and we feel these offer a solid value at their current price levels. Supplies are limited as this is a harder date to locate as opposed to a common issue like the 1904.
